The Chehalem Mountain Ranch has been home to the Kaplan Family since the fall of 2000, when, as a result of patience, perserverance, and prayer, our dream of living in the country became a reality, and we were blessed with this beautiful piece of property, thoroughly camoflauged by blackberry bushes and saplings!
The Barbados Hair Sheep
became a natural choice for our ground maintenance crew, as they have a tireless
work ethic. They enjoy mowing, and they keep the blackberry bushes in check.
The Norwegian Fjord horse,
with its calm disposition, and versatile nature, was an obvious choice when
it came to deciding the best horse breed for our children. These magnificent
animals have provided endless wonderment, from the witnessing of our stud
colt's birth to the horses' innocent curiousity and friendliness to all our
visitors.
